Kim MacQuarrie was born in Southern California in the early 50s. She was raised in a family of creatives who realized the value of and supported artistic pursuits, music and writing. They saw life through a different lens, always full of color, beauty and optimism. Their world view had a significant influence on her perception of life, the way she framed her experiences and absorbed life itself. Something good was always around the corner!
Though life’s responsibilities and work didn’t allow her the freedom to play and exercise her creative muscles as much as she desired, as opportunities presented themselves, she applied herself to instruction in many different art mediums. Retirement allowed her to open that door. The past 7 years living in Mexico have provided the space and time needed to explore freely.
Most of her work now is in acrylics and alcohol ink. She hopes that the joy she experiences in creating, will translate to her audience.
